The song is a dark tale of codependency and self-sacrifice; the ballad of a girl who gives up all of herself in return for the unhealthy love of another. Lyrically heavy and fraught with scenes from an abusive relationship, the song actually ends in redemption and the recognition that one must ultimately stand up for their own rights in order for them to be granted. In finale, the song begs up the encouragement to ask the hard question "...is your love like a suicide?"
